Westchester County Extends Civil Rights for Gay Couples

Weschester County, New York is already ahead of most of the country with extended health benefits to the domestic partners of county employees and hospitals that allows gay partners the same visiting privileges as straight ones.

Now, the county is taking their civil rights to the next step, granting gay people married in Massachusetts or one of a handful of countries, like Canada and the Netherlands, that accept gay vows are a family too, the same discount priviledges that straight couples enjoy in the county’s parks and shelters.
