Cynthia Nixon is one cool chick. Yesterday, she attended the Tony Awards – where she won the Best Actress in a Play award for her role in Rabbing Hole – with her girlfriend, Christine Marinoni.

When the media story broke that she was in a relationship with a woman, Nixon replied, cooly and confidently, “My private life is private. But at the same time, I have nothing to hide. So what I will say is that I am very happy.”

Here’s a quick reference guide to a couple of great articles on Cynthia Nixon:

Start with the New York Daily News story on Nixon’s relationship with Christine Marinoni.

Then check out this interview with Nixon, explaining why she is an education activist.

I’m delighted for Cynthia and she deserves an award for behaving with such dignity when faced by the press concerning her same sex relationship with Christine. I wish them a happy and successful life together, they seem very much in love which is wonderful.
